Chicago police said today they have arrested William Balfour for the murders of? Jennifer Hudson’s family members. Balfour is the estranged husband of the Oscar-winning actresses sister, Julia. At a closed hearing last month, investigators presented evidence that Balfour had a gun matching the weapon used in the Oct. 24 slayings of Hudson’s mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.

Balfour, 27, has been in custody in Stateville Correctional Center on a violation of parole and was transferred to Chicago police custody after police served a warrant for his arrest Monday. He was then transported to the Wentworth Area, where he will be held pending charges approved by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.

He was scheduled for another parole violation hearing on Wednesday. Hopefully this will help bring closure to Jennifer Hudson and her family!
