Amidst chaos and confusion Singer Paul McCartney gets set to rock Israel tonight for the first time. In 1965 Beatles were banned from performing in Israel. Paul McCartney is being treated with much significance since his arrival in Tel Aviv on Tuesday. It is reported that McCartney carried along 80 tons of speakers all set to entertain Israelites throughout his concert, the greatest cultural event in their 60-years old history. His group occupies 21 suites in Tel Aviv Hotel while he stays in a luxury suit where President Clinton and rock star Bono stayed during their visit.
In spite of strong urge from people to boycott Israel, he remained in his stand and said
鈥淚’m always interested in visiting places I’ve never been to before. I’d like to go [to Israel] and see what’s what鈥?
His managers assured that Paul McCartney鈥檚 songs and message are not regarding politics. The singer said, he advocates for the good cause of a two-state solution between the Israelis and Palestinians. Pro-Israeli bloggers and commentators has shown support for McCartney’s entertainment venture. According to Joel Leyden of the Israel News Agency, he is an icon of freedom, democracy and artistic free speech.
Paul McCartney will perform tonight under high security. William Parry, a columnist wrote, it is better to open the concert with 鈥楲ive and Let Die’ to the Israeli crowd. Let us wait and see whether the singer opens his concert with 鈥楶ipes of Peace’ or ‘Ebony and Ivory’.
