No matter what kinds of craziness are going on in her life, Kate Hudson always knows that she can retreat with her adorable son Ryder.  And yesterday (August 27) the mother-son pair was spotted out in New York City.

The “Fool’s Gold” hottie and her 4-year-old enjoyed some time together at Grey Dog Coffee before hoofing it home to their apartment.

Miss Hudson looked cute in a strapless teal top teamed with a brown and beige woven skirt and flip flops while Ryder rocked a t-shirt and shorts.

As for her current lawsuit with 220 Laboratories, it seems Kate may be finding herself in a bit of a pickle.  According to a statement from the company’s attorney, William E. Crockett, the case against Hudson and her partner David Babaii is watertight.

“We can demonstrate that our client…invented these beauty products.  David Babaii and Kate Hudson have said they invented the product. Claiming to have invented and developed a product that is delivered ready-to-go is not only breach-of-contract—it’s fraud.”

He continued, “In fairness to Ms. Hudson, she may be unaware of the products’ history, as she entered into a relationship with WildAid after the products had already been created. We are working to ensure that our client receives the compensation owed them.”
