Rumor has it that she’s got a killer new album in the works, and yesterday (August 17) Britney Spears was all about hitting up the recording studio.

The “Gimme More” hottie was spotted out and about in Silver Lake, California visiting a studio to work on some vocal tracks, joined by her cute male assistant.

And after she was done with the day’s duties, Miss Spears headed home only to be spotted taking off again with her gentleman helper to do some errands.

As for her newborn niece Maddie, Britney told press she’s looking forward to her meeting Jayden James and Sean Preston.  “She’s going to come out here for the kids’ birthdays.  It will be the first time the cousins meet. I’m sure the boys will be like big brothers to Maddie.

Brit confessed that when she initially learned of her sister Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy, she was taken aback.  “That was special, but it was also strange because she’s always been the baby, and now the baby was having a baby.  It was mind-boggling. I was shocked a little bit.”
