Nancy Grace and her little bundles of joy grace the cover of June’s Good Housekeeping.? Nancy says on the cover, “These babies are my miracle.” And indeed Nancy had a tough pregnancy but the twins seem like they’re doing quite well now.? Perhaps motherhood will soften the tough-talking newswomen.? If not, I wish the twins John David and Lucy Elizabeth lot’s of luck!
Seriously though Grace’s intensity, and deep connection to crime victims stems? from her own personal experience at 19, when her world was shattered when her fiancé, Keith Griffin, was brutally shot and killed by a co-worker. The experience inspired her to go to law school and crusade for victims’ rights. But, she says now, it also led her to shut down emotionally.
“After I lost my fiancé, it seemed like it would be better to always be alone than to risk being hurt again. So I felt being a wife and mother just wasn’t going to happen for me. I thought God had closed that door and given me my career instead. But then someone came into my life, and I realized: This is worth the risk.”
David Linch, 49, an Atlanta-based investment banker whom Grace, 48, first met in the 1970s when they both attended Mercer College in Atlanta, was that someone . Over the years, the two stayed in touch, but it was only a little more than a year ago that they became romantically involved and then, somewhat impulsively, decided to wed.? And now she has twins to round out her life!? It’s kind of a sweet story.
