Both Samantha Harris and Tom Bergeron came to their roles as Dancing with the Stars hosts with plenty of hosting chops. Tom had experience as the host of Hollywood Squares and America’s Funniest Home Videos. Samantha has hosted Extra, various live-award shows and news for E! and The Next Joe Millionaire, as well as guest-hosting The View.
The two are now well-known to fans of Dancing with the Stars as hosts of that show, but the two keep busy with other hosting roles outside of that series as well.
Samantha will be joining Regis Philbin and Shaun Robinson on the red carpet at the upcoming Oscar Academy Awards. It’s her first time working this particular venue on the network carrying the awards show, but she has covered the event for E! in the past, and also has covered the Golden Globes and Emmy Awards.
As for Samantha’s Dancing with the Stars co-host, Tom has a couple of new gigs in the works, too.
On February 25, he’ll be teaming up with ABC colleague Vanessa Williams of Ugly Betty for the 2008 Broadcasters Foundation of America Golden Mike Award Gala in honor of Anne Sweeney, co-chair of Disney Media Networks and president of the Disney-ABC Television Group. Tom will be the master of ceremonies for the function, which is a black-tie event benefiting The Broadcasters Foundation of America.
Then on March 15, Tom will be the Master of Ceremonies at the 29th College Television Awards gala at Culver Studios in Los Angeles. The event is to honor outstanding achievements of college students in television and media.
“I’m thrilled to be back as host of the College Television Awards," Tom said about the event. "These talented students are the industry’s leaders of the future, so I might as well start kissing up to them now."
