post Category: TV-Zone post postJanuary 10, 2008

LaceyNow that Rock of Love is all done, complete with a reunion special, the logical question is: who will get their own spin-off? There were so many breakout stars from this season that you could simply have a camera crew follow around any of these women and you could somehow put the result on TV.

VH1 is not in the business of making isolated reality shows. The Surreal Life begat Strange Love, which begat Flavor of Love, which begat I Love New York. What then will Rock of Love give birth to? After watching the reunion special, I have a couple ideas, and so read on to find my top five Rock of Love spin-off ideas.

The Barbies’ Dream House

Brief Description: Self-proclaimed Barbie twins Kristia and Brandi C. became instant BFFs in the house, talking about how great they are and pressing their fake breasts together to increase their intelligence. Now the two are roommates in the real world. Will the two be at each other’s throats, or will they make it after all?

Other characters: Chris, their flamboyantly gay next door neighbor who is constantly hanging out, dishing about boys, fashion and how fabulous Kristia and Brandi C. are. Sergei, the old, cigarette-smoking Eastern European landlord who is always trying to put an end to the Barbie twins’ good times.

In a Very Special Episode: Brandi C. isn’t feeling so good, and the Barbies suspect one of her breast implants has a leak. They go to see Dr. 90210 (in a special crossover episode) and discover it was just some bad Thai food. To celebrate, they throw a bubble party in their apartment, and when Sergei tries to shut it down, they invite him in and he has the time of his life, learning a valuable lesson about not judging a book by its cover.

Rodeo Drive

Brief Description: Fun loving Rodeo is back in the saddle, trying to balance her always hectic life. She’s raising her 7-year-old son while also starting her own business, selling organic barbecue sauce. Will the hardworking mom become a business entrepreneur, or will the corporate world eat her alive?

Other Characters: Sheryl, Rodeo’s nanny and assistant who helps out around the house and looks after her son. She’s loyal and always willing to go that extra mile to help out. Martin, Rodeo’s business partner, a very uptight guy with lots of business experience who’s constantly trying to rein Rodeo in when she goes off on a tangent.

In a Very Special Episode: When Rodeo makes a sexually suggestive barbecue sauce commercial, Martin is very upset with her, but when it goes over well with the potential investors, he learns a valuable lesson about trusting his new partner. At home, Rodeo’s son is having a birthday party, and while she struggles to make it, Sheryl takes care of everything, even dressing up like a clown.

I Love Lacey

Brief Description: Though she didn’t find love with Bret Michaels, Lacey is back as the star, looking for love from one of the 25 men who want to win the heart of the Rock of Love villainess. Following in the footsteps of New York, when Lacey’s in charge, anything can happen.

Other Characters: Lacey gets help picking a man from her best gal pal, Debbie, whose hard partying ways make Lacey look like a school girl. Also helping out is Lacey’s dad, and he’s constantly watching to see who’s BLEEP his daughter is BLEEPING.

In a Very Special Episode: Lacey informs the men they’ll be doing a swimwear fashion show for her. The guys get excited, and there are plenty of banana hammocks, but they’re in for a shock when they see the judges are Lacey’s parents!  The men learn a valuable lesson about the perils of mesh speedos.

Rock of Lacey

Brief Description: Lacey and her band, Nocturne, have dreams of hitting it big, playing sold out venues and winning tons of awards. But first, they’ll have to get their foot in the door to move up from playing clubs at 2am. Will their hard work lead to superstardom, or will their dreams of success come crashing down?

Other Characters: Lacey’s band members, including Chris, who also happens to be her ex-boyfriend. Gary, the band manager who isn’t quite up to par with big shot record execs. What he lacks in brains, he makes up for it with heart and spirit.

In a Very Special Episode: After a show, Chris hooks up with a groupie, and Lacey’s jealous finally makes her realize she still has feelings for her ex. Meanwhile, Gary books a gig but forgets to tell the band. When the club owner leaves an angry voicemail, it’s up to Lacey’s quick thinking to use her Rock of Love connection to get Bret Michaels to make a special guest appearance at the bar.  Lacey does not learn the valuable lesson that the only reason her band is given any chance at all is because she was on Rock of Love.

Heather’s House of Honeys

Brief Description: Though she vowed to quit stripping, Heather used her newfound wealth and success to do just the opposite – she’s opening her own strip club where she’s also the headliner! However, she needs a stable of sexy young beauties, and in this competition, 25 young aspiring strippers will fight for one of five openings at Heather’s House of Honeys. Throughout the grueling audition process, Heather will put these girls through rigorous stripping exercises to see who has what it takes.

Other Characters: Judges include a former Chippendales dancer as well as original supermodel Janice Dickinson, who sadly had nothing better to do. The show is hosted by Showgirls star Elizabeth Berkley.

In a Very Special Episode: Things get wild in week three when the task involves stripping with food. Any lady can take her clothes off while spraying herself with whipped cream, but when the contestants are handed ingredients like baby arugula or a rack of lamb, it’s a recipe for disaster.  One girls learns a valuable lesson about leaving the rubber bands on a lobster’s claws after she is rushed to the hospital with a nipple emergency.
