This is turning out to be one of the strongest seasons of Dancing with the Stars yet. The women continue to dominate their XY counterparts. This week, pugilist Floyd Mayweather was the latest man to stumble out of contention, leaving eight really strong couples remaining. Read on to see who I’ve placed at the bottom of the list, based on Monday night’s performances of the Viennese waltz or the paso doble.
#8 – Mark Cuban
Mark Cuban continues to elude elimination and I’m not sure why. It’s no question that he works really hard to learn the routine and gives it his all. After all, he didn’t become a billionaire by sitting on his ass, so he put in the time he needed to learn his Viennese waltz routine. But he just doesn’t have the je ne sais quoi. He is stiff and he doesn’t connect with his partner or his audience. I predict that he might be the next to go.
#7 – Marie Osmond
I enjoyed Marie Osmond and Jonathan Roberts’ performance this week. They were technically proficient, but with such fierce competition this season, technically proficient isn’t enough. They lack the passion and chemistry that the other couples have.
#6 – Cameron Mathison
Cameron Mathison and Edyta Sliwinska’s Superman-themed paso doble was one of the most entertaining routines this year. As a soap star, Cameron knows how to bring the heat; he and Edyta sizzle on stage. But again, that’s not enough. He has to improve his technique if he wants to stay in the game.
#5 – Jane Seymour
Everybody is so good that it’s almost impossible to rank them. Jane Seymour and Tony Dovolani performed a Viennese waltz this week, and it was definitely a great performance. Jane has poise, grace and good technique, but lacked the kapow! that Cameron’s performance had.
That’s my list for the bottom four. Do you agree? Who’s on your list?
Check back tomorrow for the rankings of the Top Four dancers.
