News > Director found for Dances with Wolves sequel
Written by John Lichman
A director has been chosen for the sequel to Dances with Wolves: Simon Wincer will helm The Holy Road.
The film picks up 11 years after the end of Wolves, where Dunbar/Dances with Wolves leaves the Sioux and the U.S. Army moves ever closer to taking over the wilderness. Of course, Variety says the film will properly focus on Comanche and the oncoming railroad that linked the east and west.
There is no word on whether Kevin Costner will return in any role.
Wincer has a history with TV mini-series involving the old west including Into The West, but would be best known for the films Operation: Dumbo Drop and The Phantom.
